By making a comeback, I’m changing the attitude of people toward me. If I’d known that people would react so enthusiastically, I’d have done it years ago.
– Olympic Gold Medalist Mark Spitz
What is more exciting than an athlete’s comeback attempt in the Olympics? The media hypes the athlete’s return, with us, the fans, becoming increasingly anxious, literally sitting on the edge of our seat as we watch them make their return.
After a two month-hiatus, the Olympic Fanatic is making a comeback of sorts. It’s been a difficult past few months for this fanatic with health issues and other unexpected distractio
ns; and as a result one of my biggest enjoyments–this blog–took a backseat. But with the end of the year approaching and an Olympic year on the horizon, I’m gearing back up. Yeah, call it a sort of comeback, if you will.
There are more exciting comebacks to discuss than mine. Of particular interest are those potential comebacks slated for the 2012 Olympics. Ian Thorpe, Janet Evans, Shawn Johnson, Nastia Liukin, Sophie Cox, and Cael Sanderson are just a few of the many athletes who have announced plans for a comeback.
So to those athletes I say, we better start training and getting in shape. 2012 is going to be a very busy and exciting year!
Stay tuned for an inspirational comeback that is about to happen in the sporting world. More to come on this.
Swifter, Higher, Stronger.

I’m so glad to hear of the return of many of my favorite people. These guys I know. Can’t get my head around all these new names I hear. Let’s hear it for the faithful! Rah! Rah!
